Solid steakhouse. Came here for an anniversary celebration. If you come during sunset beware with the outdoor seating as the sun shines directly onto you. We ordered: - Rib Eye: Delicious Juicy and fatty - Filet and Shrimp: melt in your mouth tender - Lobster Mac and Cheese: an indulgent side. You can without the lobster but highly recommend adding it. - Garlic Mashed Potatoes: solid but nothing special here. - Bread: solid not spectacular My favorite was the rib eye for its juicy fatty meaty flavor. The service was good and attentive. We finished the steak and had plenty of side leftovers to enjoy the next day.
Our go to anniversary dinner place. We do it up right when we come here and get cocktails, appetizer, filet mignons, and dessert usually. Our server Rich was impeccable last night and the place was really bustling. I did request a booth a month ahead of time for our reservation but didn't get it. Little disappointed there but we will be back
Another great night Anthony knocked it out of the park. This place is always so friendly and great to go to. I look forward to each and every time. Enjoy one of his killer old fashions !
This rating could be for service alone! The staff at this location is exceptional. They consistently check on you throughout your meal. The staff services your table constantly without you barely being able to notice because they are kind, fast, and efficient. We had a lovely view for our celebratory dinner and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. While this fantastic service did take longer than we expected (over two hours for a dinner for two), we still had a wonderful night. We started out with the seared ahi tuna and the pomegranate martini and old fashioned. The ahi was perfect. Melt in your mouth fresh ahi with their house sauce that compliments the ahi well. Our drinks were fantastic as expected as well. I ordered the petite filet and my husband had the petite filet and shrimp toppled with their signature truffles. We absolutely loved our steaks and obviously they were cooked to perfection for each of us as always expected from Ruth Chris. The truffles included on my husband's filet brought the steak to heaven level. Absolutely spectacular and he still thinks about this meal to this day. We did order our sides as you do have to order them separately from your steak. I had the heavenly cremini mushrooms and my husband had the sweet potato casserole. The casserole can be ordered as dessert as it is quite sweet like its namesake suggests. The cremini mushrooms were absolutely delicious. I have no other notes but just order both! We did end our dinner with a creme brûlée and the team did surprise us for our anniversary/special occasion. They even decorated our table with hearts before we were seated! This really just goes to show how much they care about the guests they serve. We notice and appreciate it!
My wife and I went to Ruth's Chris for an early dinner. We shared the tomahawk steak cooked medium, with sides of the sweet potato soufflé and potatoes. The steak was cooked really well. The sweet potato soufflé was good a little on the sweet side, the potatoes were seasoned just right. The service was top-notch, as usual, and the staff made sure everything was perfect. The ambiance was really nice and clean; exactly what you'd expect from Ruth's Chris. It's the kind of place you know will always deliver great food and excellent service, and this visit was no different. They have a good reputation for a reason. Never really disappointed with a visit here.
I believe it was David who was our server, he was great! The food was amazing, except the lobster Mac n cheese. I'd easily skip that next time. The veiw from this place is awesome! Never knew that thing I see off the 5 freeway was right where the Ruth Chris was. Overall I'm a fan id return! The happy hour seemed reallly good too!
Very solid chain steakhouse. It's very spacious inside with private rooms for special events. Service is excellent, as you would expect for an upscale dining experience. I ordered the filet with the lobster tail and very much enjoyed my meal. Steak was cooked perfectly. The goat cheese & artichoke dip was also super tasty, I definitely recommend it. The plating is very no frills which is surprising for a ~$100 meal but doesn't detract from the food being delicious. The restaurant gets great light around sunset though the view is nothing special. It's technically located in Del Mar but the exact location is a bit random. I probably prefer the Downtown location for this reason which has nice views of the Harbor. Regardless, this location is also very nice and well decorated. Overall an enjoyable dinner and experience. Would return.
Plenty of parking. Friendly hostess and main entrance. Immediately sat up entering. Friday night at 5:00, was a little surprised it was not crowded. Waiter was friendly and very helpful. Only issues we had was ordered a steak and requested it be sliced. They brought it out diving it up even for me an my wife. First time at a steak spot requesting a steak sliced for them to take it up on themselves to divide it even on two separate plates.
